What does electromobility have to do with stationary battery storage?
Electromobility is now on everyone's lips and the steady elimination of the old combustion engine seems unstoppable.
Above all, the diesel scandal and air pollution in the cities brought a noticeable boost to the electric vehicle industry worldwide. Since then, more and more people have been desiring emission-free mobility, which is becoming more worthwhile thanks to falling prices and a growing charging infrastructure.
What challenges does electromobility pose?
The growing proportion of electric cars on the roads calls for a corresponding charging infrastructure. In order to get to the desired destination with the usual security, charging must be possible anywhere and above all fast. Range and charging speed are still considered to be weak points in the electric car industry.
How can battery storage support the charging process?
ADS-TEC is developing smart solutions for the increasing challenges of the rapidly growing electromobility industry. Particularly innovative are the state-of-the-art fast charging systems of ADS-TEC which drastically reduce the charging time and thus provide a large amount of energy in a short time.
This means that if there is no continuous demand for power, but only the supply of peak power at peak times, the ADS-TEC fast charging storage system can transfer the previously charged energy to the electric car in a short time and thus dramatically shorten the charging process.
This process is comparable to that of a toilet flush: If necessary, the cistern is completely emptied in a short time (high performance is required over a short period of time) - then it slowly fills up again (due to lower power from the limited power grid, a longer time period is required) - until it is emptied again (again high demand over a short period of time). In contrast to the principle of the toilet flush, these processes of charging and discharging occur at the same time. While it is being emptied it is already being reloaded, which again increases efficiency significantly.
